So I know I've blogged a lot today but this one just has to be done. Jeremy Scott's collab with Adidas fall 2011 trainers have been leaked, and like most of his designs, have been receiving quite a lot of negative attention.
Now I'm a huge fan of Jeremy Scott - his wild and unique designs, however is this a step too far? The bones and animal print along with neon colours? Really?
The trainers themselves:
Taking a look at previous collections they seem to be right at home. The teddy bear and panda ones remind me more of a soft toy than wearable trainers (do not say they are not meant to be worn because why else would chains of shoe shops even stock them for the public en mass?) And the military boots? When did sports wear because so un-functionable and impractical?
We need to decide when is this over the top, extravagant uniqueness that makes Jeremy Scott is too much? When does winged furred trainers cross the line of just being plain ridiculous and when do we realise this is not fashion or a statement, just a tacky show of 'individuality' (yeah right.)
